Center for Enriching Relationships offers counseling support for Point Loma Nazarene University’s Center for Justice and Reconciliation and their Beauty for Ashes Recipients
The Center for Justice Reconciliation (CJR) supported five students this year with the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship for survivors of human trafficking. Rebuilding your life after the trauma of being trafficked means facing the damage of your exploitation. When CJR staff Kim Berry Jones met a psychologist from the Center for Enriching Relationships (CER) in 2016 a partnership began to form. The CER now works with the CJR to offer greatly subsidized counseling to the students receiving the Beauty for Ashes scholarship. Thanks to their generosity our students now receive the additional support of counseling, a benefit that is bringing life changing results.

An advisor to The Center for Enriching Relationships wrote to the founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries, Charles "Chuck" Colson, asking for an endorsement of what CER was doing in the San Diego area to strengthen marriages. Colson wrote back the following endorsement:
"Three cheers!... I have been familiar with his work from the beginning and endorse it with enthusiasm. The preservation of marriage, rooted as it is so profoundly in the creation covenant, is one of the highest priorities for Christians today."

"I have the highest regard for the professional Christian therapy you and your wife offer through your ministry. A ministry such as yours, mainly to pastors, is both unique and tremendously needed. You have my, and my wife Kathleen’s, continuing prayer that your ministry can be helpful to many pastors."
